New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has announced its squad for the upcoming limited-overs tour of Bangladesh, with experienced batsman Tom Latham set to captain the side. The squad features the inclusion of three promising fast bowlers: Matt Fisher, Will O’Rourke, and Blair Tickner, who have earned their places in the national team.
Will O’Rourke makes a comeback to the ODI squad after recovering from a back injury, while Matt Fisher returns to the T20I squad after overcoming a shin injury. Blair Tickner has been selected for both the ODI and T20I formats, having recovered from an ankle injury. Head coach Rob Walter expressed his delight at the return of these experienced players, emphasizing the importance of bowling depth in modern cricket’s demanding schedule.
The team will be without their regular white-ball captain, Mitchell Santner, who is unavailable for the series due to his participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with Mumbai Indians. The New Zealand team is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on April 13th and will play a series of three ODIs and three T20 Internationals.
